Staff Appreciation Lunch June 20

Image It’s hard to  believe there are only a handful of days left in the school year! This Friday June 20 is the final parent hosted Staff Appreciation Lunch.

Our teachers and staff work had to mentor, teach and nurture our children day in and day out during the school year. Let’s show them how much we appreciate all the work they do, by providing a wonderful summer meal for them.

The theme of this lunch is Picnic Salads. We are looking for contributions of salads, buns, drinks and desserts, as well as helpers for set up, hosting and clean up.

Thank you to the families that have already signed up to bring items to the lunch!

Please click on the link below for the sign up sheet.

If you are having difficulty using the signup document, please email Lisa Sarafinchan directly, letting her know what you are able to contribute.

June 9 Logos meeting recap

Matthew 5-15

Thank you to all the parents and staff that took the time out of their busy year-end schedules to work together at the final Logos Parent meeting of the school year.

Hardisty is blessed to have such committed staff and parents, who work together to teach and nurture the children in the school community. While everyone had a part in the success of this school year, we need to extend special thanks to the following individuals:

Corinne Kupin – for dedicating her time every week to work with the Worship Team. The music they have provided at chapels and other school events all year has been amazing. Corinne was recognized at the June 9 chapel as the Hardisty Volunteer of the Year for her outstanding contribution to the school.

Tara Copeman, Linda Lindsay and Robert Steenwinkel – for supporting, mentoring and giving their time to students, teachers and parents in support of the Logos program at our school. All three of you have dedicated yourselves to this school and to the program and it is appreciated so very much. Hardisty is very blessed to have such a great administrative team.

And finally, Miranda Lee – A year ago you saw a need for the Logos program to be more. After prayerful consideration, you offered your time to the school to help facilitate some pretty amazing things over the course of the school year.

These include: Starting the year with a concert, forming a Worship Team, suggesting and helping organize a Logos family potuck. Setting up a blog, creating classroom posters, helping stock a student pantry. Lining up guest speakers for chapels and a faith-based art workshop, running parent-teacher meetings, thanking our staff with the Appreciation Lunches, and helping to revitalize the Logos Society by rounding up parents from our school to show the support for the society and the program, and by bringing parents and teachers together to help with all of these activities. You asked ‘What does a Logos parent rep do?’, and I’m not sure you knew what the answer would be! I think everyone is glad you asked the question. Thank you for bringing the school community together to make a good program an even better one.

Mission Trip

Ms Copeman asked if we could post this letter about a mission trip some of our Hardisty Logos kids will be going on over the summer. If you can help in any way, please click on the website link in their letter. Thanks!

Dear parents,

We are going on a missions trip to Brazil in August with International New Hope Ministries. We are going to help the streets kids by giving them things that they don’t have! But we still need supplies for the kids.

Can you help? We are organizing a donation bin that you can donate to.

We need :

-school supplies ( pencils, erasers, rulers, calculators, backpacks, notebooks, paper, pencil cases etc.)

Your donations will be greatly  appreciated! This starts on Tuesday June 10th, June 24th will be the last day to accept the donations! The website is innhm.org
